Holistic Planned Grazing - John King - Cambridge Area

If you don’t have a well-functioning soil surface you’ll invariably be spending money trying to fix it. On this course, we will look at the problems and opportunities you face with pastures, soils, water quality, weeds and pests, and how your farm would benefit if these were addressed. You’ll build an awareness of what to look for in the paddock, and how to relate your findings to landscape function.

The afternoon will be spent on practical exercises, examining signs on the soil surface in terms of landscape function and farm productivity, and explaining the feedback loop and pre-profit indicators.

We’ll bring the results back for discussion and look at how to measure pasture characteristics, assess the measurements, and identify possible solutions to increase your farm productivity and profitability.

Location - Steve Harris’s Farm - 2237 Maungatautari Road  - Cambridge, Waikato 3494

Time - 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Cost - $50.00 ODPG members - $100 others
