The Compostex Compost Cover (also known as "compost fleece") is a completely breathable, non-woven fabric made from 100% UV-resistant polypropylene that will protect your compost pile from rainfall, and help ensure optimum aerobic compost conditions.
Your ComposTex Cover can be used both on a short term basis, or for continuous protection through an entire compost cycle.
Benefits and features:
Allows water to "wick" from fibre to fibre down the sides of the compost pile and onto the ground, thereby keeping your pile dry and protected
ComposTex Covers have a 99% or better water shedding capacity (1)
Prevents the saturated/anaerobic conditions that produce unpleasant odours, nutrient-laden leach-ate, and wet compost
Durable and long-lasting; lasts for 4-10 years plus (2)
Made from non-woven polypropylene
Also useful for protecting your compost piles from windblown weed seeds
Reduces moisture loss from sun and wind in dry climates or conditions
Limits access to piles from flies and scavenging animals
