Practical Biodynamics Workshop

  • Chaos Springs 131 Deam Rd Waihi NZ (map)

Biodynamics offers a holistic approach to growing which can enhance any organic or regenerative growing system. It works with natures rhythms and uses the biodynamic ‘preparations’, 9 soil remedies made from plants and minerals, to create soil fertility and thriving balanced ecosystems.

This workshop will be an introduction to the biodynamic approach. We will cover the main principles and practices, and you will learn the simple steps needed to get started with biodynamics in your own gardens and properties.

We will hear from Steve & Jenny Erickson of Chaos Springs about how to integrate biodynamics into a larger farm setting, including a look at their own on farm set up.

We will end the day putting the theory into practice, making a cow pat pit and stirring and spreading preparation 500.

Please bring a plate for a shared afternoon tea. Hot drinks will be provided.

Bring a 2L bottle/container (with a lid) if you would like to take some prep 500 home to spread on your own garden.

Dress for the weather - part of this workshop will happen outdoors. Bring gloves (suitable for handling cow manure) and be sure to wear clothes that you can get dirty in.

Facilitated by Bridget Henderson, BDNZ. Bridget has many years of practical work in Biodynamics having worked with Biodynamic Icon John Pearce for over 20 years.
